"A Black Market Finds a Home in the Web's Back Alleys"

A recent article in the New York Times discusses the recent success story of a Cuban Craigslist-style website, Revolico. I believe the increasing participation of Cuban citizens in the black market is indicative of the immense amount of need within the country and the fact that the Cuban entrepreneurial spirit lives on despite decades of its outlawing.

The reality within Cuba is that people lack basic necessities- they will pursue the profession that allows them to feed themselves and their families. Cuba's economy is continuing to crumble, and with it, so goes its ideologies. A sign of hope for the economy is found in the fact that Cubans are still able to survive and take advantage of opportunities when they see them.
